about me and this blog

This blog is about boredom and a desire to do something about it.
In 2006, I graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Political Science and (after a stint as a ski bum) started in on a predictable career in politics with the expectation that, like many of my generation, I would go on to Law School or some other graduate program after a year or two of grinding out an entry-level position somewhere – and continue to check off the boxes thereafter.
After four years of floating from job to job with little satisfaction or fulfillment, in 2010, out of a sense of boredom and nothing to lose, I co-founded Bulumu. A natural food and conscious lifestyle company, Bulumu is committed to producing the best products, being as environmentally responsible as possible by always evaluating what we can do better, and inspiring others to take a leap of faith and pursuit their own passions.
Adventure Deficit Disorder is my personal blog which I originally started with a focus on outdoor lifestyles and – as the name suggests – “adventure” to fill the boredom. However, I now see Adventure Deficit Disorder less about outdoor lifestyle and more about the “adventure” that can come out of a sense of boredom and a desire to do something about it.
While the focus has shifted, the posts here are still the result of my “adventure deficit”.
